Doncaster best bet (1700): Zainy Champ to make most of small field

There's a small field lining up in Doncaster's final race today, but the Tipstrr camp have their eye on one particular runner who offers plenty of betting value.

The heavy ground has claimed a few victims in this one with only four lining up to post but that should not impact the quality of this flat race at Doncaster.

Mister Meggit lines up for the O'Neill camp and is the short-price favourite with the bookies and you can see why as he won on his debut at Carlisle last time out.

It was a convincing win for the six-year-old, as he won by 12 lengths and looks like the one to beat here.

However, he has not raced since that Carlisle victory in November so could be a bit rusty and potentially allow some of the other contenders a chance here.

De Kingpin is the closest to Mister Megitt in the market and is coming off the back of a second in a point-to-point at Borris House in December.

Our selection for this one is debutant Zainy Champ, who is an unknown quantity but the booking of Lorcan Williams gives him a shout and he has caught the eye of some in the Tipstrr camp.

Williams has visited the winners enclosure on 16 occasions this season and will be fancying his chances of another one here given that only four are going to post.

Zainy Champ's sire is Youmzain, who had an excellent record over his own career, finishing in the top three on 69% of his outings under rules.

While Zainy Champ is an unknown quantity in this race, there is potential that he could make the most of the heavy ground and provide a big challenge on his debut.

Suggested best bet: Zainy Champ in the 17:00 at Doncaster
