Chester racing tips: Royal Dress and Paws For Thought ready to double up

Tipstrr racing pundit JoseBreval has cast his eye over a couple of competitive handicaps at Chester to recommend two tips for us that could combine into a decent double for anyone so inclined.

15:45 Chester: Camden Pale Handicap

Royal Dress appears to be a horse in a higher category than this Class 3 event, after kicking off his Flat season by winning a six-furlong Class 5 event very comfortably at Doncaster two weeks ago.

He carries the same handicap mark of 80 here, and he could also benefit from his low draw in stall 3 for this six-furlong test.

With Chester's uniquely challenging configuration, it is very important to get into a good position as soon as possible out of the stalls.

With Ryan Moore in the saddle to guide her through her handicap debut, Royal Dress appears to be very much the one to beat here.

Suggested bet: Royal Dress to win the 15:35 at Chester

16:55 Chester: Everyone's Turf Handicap

Paws For Thought was second in this same race last year with a three-pound higher handicap mark than here.

That short-head runner-up spot behind Ffion sums up a case of so-near-and-yet-so-far for this five-year-old gelding who is now winless in 16 races despite being in close contention in most of them.
This return to Chester could prove to be the catalyst for success, as he has only once been outside the first four in eight visits here, winning twice including his most recent victory at this very meeting in 2021.

Notably he ran fresh for that victory two years ago and for last year's close-up second, so it bodes well that he returns here following a 197-day break.

Suggested bet: Paws For Thought to win the 16:55 at Chester
