Cheltenham Festival 2023: Stayers Hurdle tips - French raider can strike gold again

The feature race of day three at the Cheltenham Festival is the Stayers’ Hurdle, and in the demanding conditions this test of stamina opens up a wealth of betting options for our friends at Tipstrr.

Cheltenham Festival legend Big Buck's memorably won this three-mile hurdling marathon four years straight between 2009 and 2012, and today's favourite Flooring Porter is halfway towards emulating that feat after winning both of the last two runnings.

He will line up as a mid-market fancy with Gordon Elliott's Teahupoo the likely starting favourite, but this is entire field is strewn with top-quality stayers.

However, the most popular pick among Tipstrr's team of pundits is French raider Gold Tweet, who caused a 14/1 upset when landing the Cleeve Hurdle on this course in January, and he might just have what it takes to keep his nose in front of the Irish challengers, too.

Top tip: Gold Tweet

Looking deeper for each-way value, Home By The Lee is not a huge outsider price, but looks a much better prospect than when finishing sixth in this race last year.

However, if you're looking for real outsider value, then Festival favourite Paisley Park looks interesting at the 20/1 mark, although that price perhaps reflects a couple of below-par performances this season.

However, there's no doubting the pedigree of this 11-year-old who won this in 2019, and was placed third in each of the last two renewals, so it would be no surprise to see him still in touch on the final uphill stretch.

Each-way popular punt: Paisley Park
