Cheltenham Festival 2023: Ryanair Chase tips: Shishkin to shine but each-way value elsewhere

The Ryanair Chase is one of the most eagerly awaited races of the Cheltenham Festival, and Tipstrr’s racing tipsters have been busy looking for the best betting value from this popular renewal.

Run over an extended two and a half miles, the Ryanair has produced some great races, with few able to forget Frodon's win under Bryony Frost in 2019 or the back-to-back successes of Allaho over the last two years.

Allaho was sadly unable to attempt his hat-trick this year, but that has left the door open for Shishkin to add to the Supreme Hurdle and the Arkle Trophy that he won here in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

This Festival favourite pulled up disappointingly in last year's Champion Chase, but after an extended break and a wind op, he was right back to his imperious best when landing the Ascot Chase by a 16-length margin last month.

Top tip: Shishkin

The short price of the favourite and the nine-runner field means the other horses all carry profitable each-way place value, including the second-favourite Blue Lord.

However, pick of the mid-market fancies is Envoi Allen, who has Rachael Blackmore on board and is a more than capable performer in any company on his day.

Twice a winner here in the 2019 Champion Bumper and the 2020 Ballymore Hurdle, this nine-year-old clearly knows his way around Prestbury Park, and although his form can be intermittent, it would be no surprise to see him pushing for a frame finish on the run-in.

Each-way popular punt: Envoi Allen
