HIT THE ROAD JACK (3) is taking on the jumps for a second time after winning his only attempt at Warrnambool back on July 7. Good effort last start to score by 0.8 lengths on the flat over 1m6f at Flemington. Hard to beat back over the jumps. POINT NEPEAN (2) returned from a lay-off last start and was on debut over the jumps. Justified the betting confidence on that occasion and scored by 12 lengths (2m) at Pakenham. Prior to that run the six-year-old had gone across to the Shane Jackson stable. Is the winner of a black-type race on the flat. Worth serious consideration. THE CUNNING FOX (4) was well in commission and turned in a nice effort last time out when he won on his jumps debut in a hurdle (2m) at Pakenham. Comes here with definite top-three claims. ALAKAHAN (1) impressive winner (2m) at Warrnambool two runs ago then wasn't nearly as effective when sixth more recently in a hurdle (2m1 1/2f) at Pakenham. Should be thereabouts.
