EVERSTAR (2) showed good speed to lead over 6½f at Sunshine Coast last start but faded right out of it to finish eighth. Should be prominent from the outset. Will prove tough to beat. STAVRITZEL (4) was beaten just a long neck last start when fresh from a lay-off and landed his first top-three finish in the process at Grafton over 5f. Looks close to a win and gets his chance in this suitable contest. HERECOMESANTORINI (6) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then didn't feature last start when 9 lengths away in 11th over 6½f at Sunshine Coast after being prominent at the corner. Nicely placed to take this out. RUM RUNNER (8) is a gelding U S Navy Flag who cost NZD $ 120,000 (NZB 2023 Karaka - Book 1) as a yearling and kicks off here. Will strip fitter from a Doomben trial run. Profiles well in this line up, worth keeping safe.
