EL RIO (1) gained a first hurdle success scoring by 8L in April. Could have further progress to come this season. EAST INDIA EXPRESS (9) impressed landing a jumpers flat race by 6.5L in February and looks an interesting recruit to hurdles. MUCH TOO DEAR (4) is a five-race maiden with hurdles and may have to settle for minor honours again. MONKS MEADOW (3) was 15L back in second on hurdling debut and could benefit from the experience.
