OLD PAL (10) is a strong fresh performer back after a break of ten weeks and looking to emulate his win at Santa Anita to kick off the last campaign. Comes to hand quickly so a bold showing is expected. CATALINA EDDY (2) finished sixth over 6f at Santa Anita when resuming last start, beaten only half a length. Taking on a better field but he is fitter and worth serious consideration. Group 2 winner NONE ABOVE THE LAW (7) finished a 3 length seventh on turf at Santa Anita two starts ago. Much better last time though, following up with success on the dirt at Los Alamitos over 1m six weeks ago. Drops back in grade. Should be involved in the finish. BARELY FUNTIONAL (11) returns after a lay-off of ten weeks. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings over 5½f at Santa Anita. Among the better hopes.
