Each-Way Thief: Gran Luna to shine for Nicky Henderson at Haydock

There’s oodles of racing value on Wednesday, December 1 and Planet Sport have big-price picks at Haydock, Lingfield and Kempton. Nicky Henderson could be about to have an each-way field day.

To Haydock for our first value pick on Wednesday. Nicky Henderson has a strong hand to play at Haydock and Grand Luna can light up this hurdle.

15.20 Haydock - Gran Luna

This Class 3 hurdle is aptly named the Chillblast Handicap after recent weather and Nicky Henderson looks to have a cool chance with Gran Luna.

Given a competitively large field, Henderson's Spanish Moon mare may be a tad overpriced, having won three out of four starts so far.

A last time out novice hurdle win over Miss Tara at Chepstow came by four lengths and Gran Luna also has a couple of Newbury wins to her name.

If the grandmaster Henderson has Grand Luna fit for her reappearance then there's every chance the horse named after the Italian for moon can eclipse the rest.

Other each-way fancies at Haydock, Lingfield and Kempton...

Elsewhere at Haydock, Henderson has another classy outsider with a chance in the 13.50 with Burrows Edge who won the Lanzarote Hurdle back in 2020.

Blaklion can also roll back the years for Team Skelton in the 14.50 veteran's chase at a price.

At Lingfield in the 12.50, Unique Cut, a last time out second on the all-weather, looks a snip at good odds for Alice Haynes.

In the 14.30, Andrew Balding is flying at the moment and can follow up his 40/1 maiden winner on Tuesday with expensive Dark Angel filly Angel's Point on debut.

Finally, down at Kempton keep an eye on Exclusive Times for Mark Johnston in the 16.30 sprint, who can run better than her odds suggest after winning at Wolverhampton.
