Saturday's Royal Ascot racing tips: Solid Stone ready to rock for Stoute in the Hardwicke

Planet Sport tipster Pete Farries returns with some top tips for the final day of Royal Ascot on Saturday, June 18. He's found a rock solid pick for Sir Michael Stoute.

Click on Planet Sport's Live Race Centre for race cards and other information on racing at Royal Ascot.

Here's a quick reference list for Pete's picks from the final day of Royal Ascot
Solid Stone (15.40 Royal Ascot)
Highfield Princess (16.20 Royal Ascot)
Blackrod (17.00 Royal Ascot)

Click on the video or read the text (or both) and you'll have a heads up on trying to pick winners at Ascot.

We start, aptly, with a princess who is aiming to shine at Royal Ascot.

16.20 Royal Ascot - Highfield Princess

Pete is sticking with the royal theme and going for Highfield Princess in the six furlong Platinum Jubilee Stakes.

John Quinn's five-year-old mare has hit real form and is hunting the hat-trick after wins at Newcastle and York.
The victory last time out in the 1895 Duke Of York Clipper Logistics Stakes came in decent fashion. Here's a snippet of why Pete thinks that Highfield Princess can reign.
"Highfield Princess really progressive and ran really well at York last time around in the Duke Of York, I think this horse has a great chance of getting into the frame."
"If not to win there could be some real value each-way".

15.40 Royal Ascot - Solid Stone

Pete is ducking for cover from Hurricane Lane in the Hardwicke Stakes and instead finding shelter with Sir Michael Stoute's Solid Stone.

Owned by Saeed Suhail whose Desert Crown won the Epsom Derby, Solid Stone is no mug himself, having taken the Huxley Stakes last time out at Chester.
Hurricane Lane hasn't started since last October and if he is slow off the mark, here are a few reasons why Solid Stone can roll in.
"I'm not going to go each-way here because I'm really, really convinced on Solid Stone. Hurricane Lane very tough to defeat, no question about that but Solid Stone was superb in the Huxley action recently, has won over this trip previously over at Newbury as well, a few months ago."
"Solid Stone is in my opinion almost criminally underrated in the market here."

17.00 Royal Ascot - Blackrod

Michael Dods' Blackrod is a dark horse says Pete in the Wokingham Stakes.

Coming into the race on the back of a win in a Newmarket heritage handicap, Blackrod is a consistent performer.
Here's a snapshot of why Pete thinks that Blackrod can get the job done.
"Got a really good win at Newmarket last year, followed that up at York with a cracking win in the Summer. Went up to Ayr, didn't struggle, finished third that day, Staxton winning that race in very solid fashion indeed,"
"Returned to Newmarket last time for another win. This horse has been in great form and also I think a very concentrated character which I think is going to help in a field like this,"
