Put the beer away and the champagne on ice, as Ross Brierley is back to give you a big priced runner in The Lincoln at Doncaster on Saturday.
3.10 Doncaster - Johan
Brierley says: "A big field as ever here then for the Lincoln, but over the past few years, you've been able to narrow down the field by looking at unexposed four-year-olds coming off the back of a winter break.
"A few of those catch the eye; Haqeeqy is the most obvious one for the Gosden team, who was very progressive last season.
"Eastern World has a chance as well, after disappointing in a couple of handicaps that weren't run to suit, and Brunch looks a little overpriced - as ever - for Michael Dods.
"But we're going to take a chance at a big price with a big weight here in the shape of William Haggas' Johan.
"The yard won the race with Addeybb a couple of seasons ago and Johan could also progress to be a listed or group race performer this season.
"He's already gone through the handicap ranks, an impressive win at Newbury last season, a couple on the all-weather, [but] disappointing last time out over at Kempton but that was a listed race, and it didn't really suit his strengths.
"But he should be on the heels of the speed and kick on late. He loves a straight track, and his speed figures are second to none, so he looks a little bit overpriced here for the Lincoln."
