Frankie Focus: Frankie Dettori rides rated on day one of the Doncaster St Leger Festival

Even though the irrepressible Italian has hit 50, there’s no doubting Frankie Dettori adds stardust to Classic meetings. Planet Sport rates his chances on day one of the historic St Leger meeting.

The 2019 St Leger winner has rides on every day of the festival on Town Moor and Planet Sport will be there every step of the way to talk you through his best chances.

1.45 - Doncaster - Implore

The first of a couple of tasty rides for John and Thady Gosden, Implore is out of the Coral-Eclipse winning Ulysses.
Bred by Cheveley Park Stud, the two year-old colt comes with impeccable credentials and arrives at Doncaster on the back of a win at Beverley and a second placed finish at Sandown in August.
Cheekpieces did the job at Beverley and the Gosdens are not afraid to mix up the headgear here to keep Implore focused on the job in hand.
Godolphin's Modern Games presents a danger but if Dettori can keep Implore in contention at the business end of the seven furlongs, his big meeting experience could come into play, to see the famous red and white Cheveley Park colours home first.
Bet rating: Three Stars.

2.20 - Frantastic

There's always a buzz about Frankel's offspring but more so when John and Thady Gosden get to saddle one of the babies of the beast.
The fabulously named Frantastic is a full brother to stable star Cracksman and observers will be looking for clues of any likeness to sire or sibling in this British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes.
Again, owned by Anthony Oppenheimer who owns superstars like Cracksman and Golden Horn, Fantastic comes with superlative connections.
Dettori has already sat on Frantastic at Newmarket and with such potential, it would be no surprise to see the colt get off the mark at the first time of asking like his father.
Bet Rating: Five Stars
