December 3 Racing Tips and Odds: Al Dancer to waltz away with it at Sandown

As Sandown prepares for the Tingle Creek meeting, the Surrey track has a strong card on Friday, December 3. Planet Sport tipster Pete Farries returns with a penchant for a Sam Thomas smooth mover.

Lossiemouth (14.25 Sandown)

Desque De L’Isle (15.00 Sandown)

Al Dancer (15.35 Sandown)

Pete starts with a horse named after a Scottish town known as the "jewel of the Moray Firth". This one can shine at Sandown.

14.25 Sandown - Lossiemouth

This six-year-old heads for the Grade 2 Ballymore Winter Novices' Hurdle in fine form for Tom Lacey and searching for the hat-trick.

Lossiemouth won a conditionals' race at Ascot and then absolutely hacked up at Ffos Las by 10 lengths.

Stan Shepperd gets the leg up and here are a couple of reasons why Pete thinks that Lossiemouth has a great chance in Surrey.

"Now many have you may have watched these videos previously and seen me backing Lossiemouth to hell and high water and I will keep doing it. I absolutely love him. He has stamina to burn which is interesting considering what he has come from, mainly six furlong runners, and I just think that Lossiemouth is the one to watch here…

Now, Brave Kingdom for Paul Nicholls is obviously a phenomenal runner and is going to keep improving as well, probably beyond Lossiemouth but right now Lossiemouth has to be the way for me."

15.35 Sandown - Al Dancer

There's plenty to like about Sam Thomas, the jockey turned trainer now attempting to mix it with the established national hunt trainers.

Al Dancer has plenty of ability and having switched from Nigel Twiston-Davies will be hoping to pick up his graded form of old.

Conditional Thomas Doggrell gets the ride and takes a handy seven pounds off Al Dancer's back.

Here's a snippet of why Pete reckons Al Dancer can shuffle off with this one.

"I like Al Dancer here, I'm going to play the horse each-way. Sam Thomas has been talking up Al Dancer… and he knows about good horses, of course he does, who can forget that phenomenal ride on Denman back in 2008 in that wonderful battle with Kauto Star…

The fact is that the price is too big on Al Dancer because loves this kind of field, loves this kind of race as well over hurdles and I just think the price is slightly big. "

15.00 Sandown - Desque De L'Isle

The evergreen trainer Venetia Williams is still basking in Ladbrokes Trophy glory with Cloudy Glen and can rack up another nice win here.

Desque De L'Isle looks the form pick with potential for improvement after a nice win last time out at Ffos Las.

Ned Fox takes off a hefty 10 pounds and here is a snapshot of why Pete reckons that Williams will keep her good form going.

"I think a very good way in here because was a good winner over Sabbathical last around at Ffos Las. That was a really hardy win over two miles, drops ever so slightly in trip, I don't think that's going to be really anything other than a blink for Desque De L'Isle in this one.

Now had had a bad time before that win at Ffos Las but this one first caught my eye when winning well at Lingfield quite a while back. I still think this is the one to beat in this race."
