I Like To Move It (14.20 Ascot)
Pic D'Orhy (14.55 Ascot)
Party Business (13.20 Ascot)
14:20 Ascot - I Like To Move It
My star pick comes up in the first Grade 2 contest on the day at Ascot (14:20) and I really like the look of I Like To Move It for Nigel Twiston-Davies (9/1).
You can back him each-way if you like. He's run up a hat-trick of wins including last time out in Grade 2 company at Cheltenham and I was a little surprised to see him at the bottom of the market.
I don't think he should be ahead of Jonbon for Nicky Henderson, who will likely go off as a strong favourite, but I don't see how a winner who has completed a hat-trick and notched up an impressive Grade 2 win last time, and who will like it at Ascot, should be this price. His trainer has consistently spoken of him as a potential stable star of the future.
14:55 Ascot - Pic D'Orhy
My next best selection goes in the next race on the Ascot card (14:55). He'll be much shorter and at the time of writing is trading at 6/5. He's the Paul Nicholls-trained Pic D'Orhy and he looks unopposable.
He is clearly the highest-rated runner in the field, off a mark of 152. He fell four out at Newbury last time but would have gone on to win. He's the class act in this contest.
13:10 Ascot - Party Business
And for those of you who fancy a treble my final pick of the day runs before the other two (13:10) at Ascot and is Party Business. He looks each-way material at 10/1 and represents the Ian Williams stable.
He made the frame in all three of his bumper runs last season but disappointed on his reappearance and hurdles debut at Warwick last month. With that experience under his belt and with this longer trip looking more suitable, he looks worth siding with each-way for your treble on Friday.
