December 11 Racing Tips and Odds: No lottery to back Fusil Raffles at Cheltenham

Cheltenham are in the midst of a fantastic two-day’s racing before Christmas and Planet Sport tipster Pete Farries is back with a trio of tips on Saturday, December 11.

Here's a quick snapshot of Saturday's tips. Just click on the links below to place a wager with Planet Sport Bet.

Fusil Raffles (13.50 Cheltenham)

Gelino Bello (14.25 Cheltenham)

Song For Someone (15.00 Cheltenham)

We start with the 13.50 at HQ with Nicky Henderson in the unusual position of having an outsider for a big race. Fusil Raffles can do the business at a price for Seven Barrows.

13.50 Cheltenham - Fusil Raffles

The six-year-old course and distance winner is going the right way but just not yet taken seriously enough at the top of the market, which presents great value says Pete.

A solid winner of the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby last time out, Daryl Jacob gets the leg up and here are a couple of reasons why punters can hit the jackpot with Fusil Raffles.

"I don't think anyone is going to beat Lalor in this race but I do think this is a very good runner to get into the frame.

"Won at Wetherby in the Charlie Hall last time around, there was a bit of luck in that but I'm not really that bothered, I thought it was still a very good run.

"At Newton Abbot before that, was never going to beat Bravemansgame, who ran superbly, was the odds-on favourite, but again in the frame.

…This price is too big for Fusil Raffles, who seems to turn up on the big days."

14.25 Cheltenham - Gelino Bello

Paul Nicholls is a big-hitter at Cheltenham and Pete is backing Gelino Bello to win the rematch with Blazing Khal.

Not out of the top three in any of his four career starts, Gelino Bello was touched off by Blazing Khal after a difficult run at Cheltenham on November 12.

Harry Cobden gets the ride and here is a snapshot of why Pete thinks revenge is a dish best served cold.

"Gelino Bello and Blazing Khal once again go head to head. Now if you didn't see them when they met in the Ballymore last month here at Cheltenham they were really really good against each other and in the end Blazing Khal came through to win.

"But was bumped in the end Gellino Bello by Blazing Khal, enough I think to put the horse off. Paul Nicholls I think will have done something to work on that in the meantime and I think this horse is the way forward."

15.00 Cheltenham - Song For Someone

Pete thinks Song For Someone can hit the high notes after taking this Grade 2 hurdle last year.

A second in preparation for the defence of his title at Ascot in the Coral Hurdle was no disgrace and should put the six-year-old in top nick.

Aidan Coleman takes the reins and the following is a nugget of why Pete reckons Song For Someone will be heard loud and clear on Saturday.

"Was a next best in this race last year. Won it, of course, back on the 12th of December here at Cheltenham and I think is going to get it done again for Tom Symonds, who was very happy actually with his horse's second placed finish in the Coral Hurdle action at Ascot last time around.

"Felt the run was actually better this time than the one that the gelding won last year.

"…The price I think is going to be short on Song For Someone, but I don't care."
