Daily Nap April 21: Burn The Evidence to notch another Perth success for Elliott

Perth stages some competitive National Hunt action on Thursday April 21 and has again drawn runners from afar. Planet Sport’s Jonathan Doidge fancies one of them for his pick of the day.

The William Hill Pick Your Places Mares' 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle (13:00) at Perth on Thursday has drawn a field of eight runners. These include the useful Donald McCain-trained Minelladestination.
However, the best of the field on paper is the Irish raider Burn The Evidence. Gordon Elliott's mare has already shown she can take travelling in her stride, when winning an Ayr bumper in January.
She then returned home and annihilated her field in a Fairyhouse mares' maiden hurdle on her debut over obstacles. That was easily the best piece of form in this field.
It's hard to put your finger on what went wrong at Musselburgh last time. Perhaps the race came too soon for her and an odds-on third was not what her supporters wanted.
However, she's been given a couple of months since then and that can pay dividends here. She acts on the forecast ground and I think Burn The Evidence can get back to winning ways in the 13:00 at Perth on Thursday.
