Daily Nap January 15: Glittering Love to sparkle at Wetherby

Planet Sport Tipster Jonathan Doidge sides with a consistent staying chaser to back up a last-time win when he turns out at Wetherby on Saturday.

Saturday's nap runs at Wetherby (15:23) and while he's not the best the Nicky Richards has ever trained, he's a horse I've always liked, Glittering Love.

Trainer Nicky Richards learned many things from his father, the great Gordon W Richards, I'm sure, and one of them was his placement of horses.

Nicky never wants to go to the well too often. That's paid dividends with many of his inmates over the years and Glittering Love is no exception.
He has won five of his 12 chases and been placed on four others, so he is a remarkably consistent performer.
As a 10-year-old he's probably not as good as he once was, but he loves to get his toe in and Wetherby's galloping three miles will suit.
I loved the way he scrapped out his latest win at Carlisle over three and a quarter miles, when he wore blinkers for the first time. He's gone up just 3lb for that and as the front pair were over five lengths clear, he may have enough in hand on the handicapper at the moment to enable him to follow up.
So Saturday's nap is Glittering Love in the 15:23 at Wetherby.
