Daily Nap December 30: Be Brave at Taunton

Planet Sport tipster Jonathan Doidge heads to Taunton for his Thursday nap and zones in on a Paul Nicholls-trained gelding in the 13.15.

Formerly with Harry Whittington, for whom he won a Fontwell bumper last February, Brave Kingdom then had wind surgery before joining the Nicholls team at Ditcheat.
That certainly appeared to have been successful when he came out and demolished his field on his hurdles debut in a Chepstow maiden over an extended 2m3f last month, making all to win by almost 10 lengths in a first-time tongue-tie.
It was no surprise that connections stepped him up in class last time, when he went off a warm order for the Ballymore Winter Novices' Hurdle at Sandown over 2m4f. However, he raced with the choke out there and had nothing left when the winner swept by on the run to two out.
I can't be downing tools on one who has had a bit of a disappointment just the once and for me, he is the class horse in this race, may yet end up being significantly better than we have seen, and he is taken to defy a penalty back down at this level. So it's Brave Kingdom, nap of the day for Thursday, in the 13.15 at Taunton.
