Daily Nap December 11: Double chance for Midnight Shadow at Cheltenham

Planet Sport tipster Jonathan Doidge picks out his daily nap for the racing at Cheltenham on Saturday, December 11.

13.50 Cheltenham - Midnight Shadow

Some top draw racing for us to consider for our tip on Saturday and we are going to go for the big race of the day at Cheltenham. This of course is the Racing Post Gold Cup, round about two and a half miles in trip on the new course, as opposed to the Paddy Power which was the equivalent trip on the old course last month.
Now that was won by the Sue Smith trained Midnight Shadow, who is a horse I've liked for a long time. Showed fantastic gutsy attitude to win that day. He's five pounds worse off this time, with the likely favourite Lalor, trained these days by Paul Nicholls.
He is 8/1 or therabouts at time of recording, possibly will be shorter on Saturday. You could still back him each-way and he'll put in a fine performance I'm sure, on ground that should also suit him just as well.
So Midnight Shadow to make it a double across the two big two and a half mile chases at Cheltenham on Saturday in the 13.50.
