April 29 Racing Tips: Crane to raise the roof at Redcar?

Planet Sport tipsters have an interesting selection of fancies for Thursday April 29 from six meetings at Redcar, Punchestown, Lingfield, Chelmsford, Musselburgh and Southwell.

Isn't it time your luck changed? Well these hot tips could have you cracking open the champagne.

3.50 - Redcar

Having won the last of his three juvenile outings last year, Crane is the pick in the Watch Racing TV In Stunning HD Handicap.

Well beaten by Derby hope Wirko on his first start, Crane improved to finish third on his next run before finally hitting the target at Lingfield on New Year's Eve.

Trying turf for the first time here, Crane can shine again over a mile before possibly edging up in distance.

2.10 - Redcar

Awesometank was a fine servant for William Haggas, and her half-sister Awesomebynature can make a winning start for the trainer in the Visit Redcar Car Boot This Sunday Fillies' Novice Stakes.

Selections at Redcar include: 1.40 Vieux Carre, 2.40 Lilikoi, 3.15 Kingdom Found, 4.25 Sadie's Day, 5.00 Tricolore.

6.40 - Chelmsford

Happy Romance should be able to capitalise on a drop in both trip and class in the Chelmer Fillies' Stakes.

She fell well short in the Fred Darling at Newbury, beaten nine lengths in 10th place after racing pretty keenly on her first attempt at seven furlongs.

Happy Romance dropped away inside the final furlong that day, appearing to suggest a switch back to sprint trips would play to her strengths, having previously finished a fine fourth in the Cheveley Park Stakes and won both a Group Three and a valuable sales race over six furlongs last term.

Last year's Super Sprint heroine has to prove she can hit the same kind of heights at three. But this looks a good opportunity for a confidence boost, even under a penalty, before connections regroup and map out her remaining 2021 campaign.

7.15 - Chelmsford

Satono Japan should start to live up to his pedigree this year, and the Bigger Pools With tote.co.uk PMU Partnership Handicap may be a nice starting point.

A son of the late Deep Impact out of a dual American Grade One winner in Dubawi Heights, this colt would have been expected to have won more than a Kempton juvenile novice event by this stage, given he was an early entry in last year's Derby.

However, he has clearly had his issues and did not reappear as a three-year-old until October, when he took a fair third place at Wolverhampton before failing to build on that when upped to Listed class.

Sir Michael Stoute's charge currently holds a rating of 95 - but judged on his juvenile promise, he could yet rank higher than that.

Others to check at Chelmsford include: 5.10 Tippy Toes, 5.40 Golden Flame, 6.10 El Ray, 7.45 Lanika, 8.15 Strawberri.

6.25 - Southwell

Dabirstar should be sharper for her return last month as she heads back to Southwell for the MansionBets Best Odds Guaranteed Maiden Handicap.

She has shown an aptitude for the surface in finishing a narrow second last year, before failing to see out a mile at the Nottinghamshire venue last month.

Dropped back to six furlongs on a starting mark of 69, she has plenty in her favour.

Other Southwell selections include: 5.20 Brandy Station, 5.50 Toutatis, 6.55 Join Forces, 7.25 Ravenscar, 7.55 Maykir, 8.25 Send In The Clouds.

4.00 - Musselburgh

Twice Adaay just missed out at Southwell last week but can make amends in the William Hill Betting TV Handicap.

Not beaten far in any of her three starts so far in 2021, Twice Adaay showed some ability on the turf last year too before heading for the all-weather.

Keep an eye on these at Musselburgh: 1.50 Soapys Sister, 2.20 Chase That Dream, 2.50 Perfect Soldier, 3.25 Cool Spirit, 4.35 Dreamseller, 5.05 Mutamaded.

5.25 - Punchestown

Flooring Porter was a determined winner of the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham and can follow up in the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle.

Front-running tactics have significantly raised the six-year-old's game this term, and he will take some stopping.

6.35 - Punchestown

Energumene finally gets his chance to sparkle at a Festival as he lines up in the Ryanair Novices Chase.

A late setback scuppered his Arkle run at Cheltenham, but he looked a superstar in winning his previous race and can confirm that impression.

Other possible punts at Punchestown include: 3.40 Misty Millie, 4.15 Raya Time, 4.50 Call It Magic, 6.00 Max Flamingo, 7.05 Bigbadandbeautiful, 7.35 Grand Jury.

Selections for Lingfield: 1.00 Moliwood, 1.30 Billhilly, 2.00 Wurlitzer, 2.30 Al Saariyah, 3.00 Lady Florence, 3.35 Al Nefud, 4.05 Rewired.
