April 21 Racing Tips: Peur De Rien not afraid of victory at Perth

Planet Sport's tipsters cast their eyes over some interesting races at Perth, Ludlow, Taunton, Lingfield and Catterick on Wednesday April 21.

Hit the midweek lull? Perhaps some extra cash in your pocket will give you a boost. Here's some racing tips that might tickle your fancy.

1.55 - Perth

Peur De Rien enjoys a sound surface and he can go well in the William Hill Extra Places Every Day Novices' Limited Handicap Chase.

The eight-year-old enjoyed a nice confidence boost with victory at Kempton on his most recent run, having bypassed the worst of the winter.

He was a convincing three-and-three-quarter-length winner at the Sunbury track, jumping soundly and keeping on well to suggest that even his increased rating of 115 could give Oliver Sherwood something to work with.

2.30 - Perth

Threeunderthrufive can end the season on a winning note as he drops back to Listed company for the British EBF William Hill Gold Castle "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle.

Paul Nicholls' charge met with just his second defeat in six career starts at the Cheltenham Festival, finding the front-running Vanillier too good in the Albert Bartlett.

Threeunderthrufive had previously racked up three hurdles victories on the spin, winning easily enough at Lingfield and Ludlow before Christmas, before having to work hard under a penalty and on easy ground on his Festival prep at Musselburgh in February.

The Shantou gelding looks sure to reach his full potential when switched to fences and while he has to give weight all round here, he does look to have a touch of class and might well appreciate the expected decent ground.

Others to fancy at Perth include: 1.25 Get The Facts, 3.00 Francky Du Berlais, 3.35 Jack Yeats, 4.10 Lady Chuffnell, 4.40 Arnica, 5.15 Taras Day.

1.00 - Ludlow

Tinnahalla heads to Ludlow rather than an alternate engagement at Perth and the decision should pay dividends in the Join RacingTV Novices' Hurdle.

The four-year-old ran well in a competitive juvenile heat at Ascot at the end of March, racing prominently before finding a few with a bit too much toe and having to settle for a four-length fourth.

Previously a winner on heavy ground at Catterick, Tinnahalla demonstrated a better surface holds no fears for him while his 16lb rise for that North Yorkshire victory also does not seem beyond his remit.

Other selections at Ludlow: 1.35 Baby King, 2.10 Precious Eleanor, 2.40 Very First Time, 3.15 Winged Isle, 3.50 Garde Ville, 4.20 Our Jester.

6.30 - Taunton

Potters Vision found Dan Gun too good last time, but a similar effort should put her thereabouts in the Central Motors (Chard) Mares' Handicap Hurdle.

She was beaten nearly six lengths giving weight away in third, but Dan Gun has boosted that form with an easy win at Bangor on Saturday.

Taunton tips include: 4.55 Mon Frere, 5.30 Monete, 6.00 Mi Laddo, 7.00 Caroline's Quest, 7.30 Shadow's Girl.

4.35 - Lingfield

Frankie Dettori does not ride on a Wednesday evening at Lingfield too often, so it is probably a good hint as to expectations as he teams up with Polling Day in the Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 Novice Stakes.

A Dante and Derby entry, Polling Day made a victorious racecourse bow at this track in March, defying his evident greenness to lead home a Godolphin one-two-the with any amount in hand.

The Gosdens have opted to step up in trip to a mile and a half from 10 furlongs, while keeping his sights relatively low, but the fact Dettori rides indicates the potential of this Sea The Stars colt.

Others to fancy at Lingfield: 4.05 French Minstrel, 5.10 Famous Dynasty, 5.40 Luna Wish, 6.10 Aiguillette, 6.40 Lilkian, 7.10 Kath's Lustre, 7.40 Lucky Ava.

2.50 - Catterick

Streak Lightning can defy top-weight in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap.

The four-year-old has shown flashes of ability, winning three of his seven outings, but has seemingly struggled for a bit of consistency so far.

He appeared to have won with a bit in hand over seven furlongs at Newcastle in January and was short odds to follow up back over the course and distance last month.

However, he could not muster a change of gear at the finish, beating just one horse home, but he takes the eye back on turf after a break.

Keep an eye on these selections at Catterick: 1.45 Fircombe Hall, 2.20 Depp, 3.25 Medicine Jack, 4.00 Molinari, 4.30 Bert Kibbler, 5.05 De Latour.
