Wednesday Dundalk top racing tip: Beleaguerment ready to step up

From another limited all-weather card, Tipstrr horse racing expert Richard Hutchinson has picked out his best value each way bet from this afternoon's meeting at Dundalk.

Beleaguerment has been kept busy throughout his entire career and has already had 81 races under his belt, winning six and placing a further fifteen times.

Those wins were over six and seven furlongs and while he is yet to win over a mile, he has raced with credit over that longer distance.
Last year he finished second by a head over a mile at Naas, where he stayed on well and just failed to get up on the line, despite the searching uphill finish. There appears to be no doubting his staying capability, especially now he is fully mature.

16:15 (Dundalk) Beleaguerment

This six-year-old gelding is fully exposed and races regularly at Dundalk, winning four times at the track off marks of between 48 and 68, including twice this year off 48 and 55.

He certainly appears to be running well enough to make the most of today's 49-mark, and is just the sort of horse to win again before the year is out.
Beleaguerment has the benefit of a nice low draw in stall 4, and has the highly-rated Chris Hayes in the plate, who is more than capable of giving him the ride he needs to put him in contention.

He goes off here at 40/1, which appears too big a price for his chances and his ability, so he appears to hold great value at a point each way at those odds, and that value holds down to as low as 25/1.
