Tuesday's Chelmsford best bets and racing tips: Bomb Squad too explosive for rivals

To sunny Essex for the evening meeting at Chelmsford on Tuesday, July 12, and the Planet Sport tipsters have some cracking selections.

Hopefully our tips for the Polytrack at Chelmsford can throw up a few winners, then you can spend your money on a fan to help you sleep at night in this oppressive heat. Then you'll need a few more winners to pay for that huge electricity bill.

You can get all the latest racecards and results from Chelmsford by using Planet Sport's live centre, but first here's a quick list of our leading fancies.

17:50 (Chelmsford) Dors Toyboy

18:20 (Chelmsford) Melody Of Life
18:50 (Chelmsford) Mobadra

19:20 (Chelmsford) Boss Power

19:50 (Chelmsford) Storm Castle
20:20 (Chelmsford) Arabian Warrior

20:50 (Chelmsford) Bomb Squad

17:50 (Chelmsford) Dors Toyboy

Dors Toyboy has been raised just 1lb for his win at Lingfield over 7f and Harry Burns' 3lb claim could aid his cause further.
The four-year-old was only beaten a nose at this track in May, but the nature of his latest win suggests a step up to 1m should suit.
Katie's Kitten and Hellavapace have recently been progressive and cannot be ruled out.

19:20 (Chelmsford) Boss Power

Boss Power hung his chance away in a competitive handicap at Epsom on Derby Day, but there is a good chance the unorthodox nature of the Surrey Downs did not suit Sir Michael Stoute's five-year-old, who is given the chance to gain some compensation in Chelmsford's Hills Prospect Premier Cru Handicap.
This would be his highest winning rating, but the Frankel gelding looks capable of playing a part dropping back to 10 furlongs with Ryan Moore booked to do the steering.

20:50 (Chelmsford) Bomb Squad

In the concluding Aston Lark Handicap, pay attention to Bomb Squad, who could bring the evening to a close with a bang.
Derbyshire-based handler John Mackie has to be respected when venturing south and it is of note he has selected this contest for his consistent four-year-old, who has made the podium in each of his last three starts.
He had no luck in running when beaten three-quarters of a length at Wolverhampton, but has been given the chance for some deserved compensation off the same rating.
