Thursday horse racing tips: Each-way value from Southwell and Wetherby

With horse racing getting back into full swing, Tipstrr racing pundit Richard Hutchinson has picked out a couple of each-way selections that he suggests are capable of out-racing their outsider odds.

15:20 (Southwell) Dark Shot

I've put up Dark Shot before and he now looks weighted to win, with his female jockey receiving a further five-pound allowance.

He drops back from seven to six furlongs, which is much more his trip, having won over this course and distance before. Also, cheekpieces are replaced by a visor which invariably helps produce a better run.

Alafdhal is rattling up a sequence and will undoubtedly be a tough nut to crack, but he is up 25 pounds for his four-timer and his sequence is going to end soon.

He dominates the top of the market with Walking On Clouds, but that creates each-way options further down the betting and Dark Shot offers value at anything from 16/1 and above.

16:15 (Wetherby) Get Going

Get Going has only raced half a dozen times, primarily over two miles, and has shown some promise along the way.

His pedigree is stamina, which is ladened on both the dam and sire's side, so he should relish this step up in trip.

His first try over three miles comes in only his second handicap off a mark of 84, when already postmarking 90 over two and a quarter miles.

That makes him a really interesting prospect, especially at the 100/1 I was able to find, and he still looks worth a raised-stake play at 25/1 and above.
