Tarnished trainer Gordon Elliott to make comeback on Tuesday at Punchestown

Irish trainer Gordon Elliott, castigated and banned for six months for posing for a photo astride a dead horse, will saddle his first runners since March 8.

Elliott has a decent chance at Punchestown with a Prince themed entry, but his return looks set to be as controversial as his banning.

The Irishman was suspended for a year by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board, but with six months suspended and sends Oh Purple Reign to Punchestown for the 2.30 handicap over the flat.

Another runner in the 4.05, Alice Kitty, is not certain to run as the filly is only third reserve.

Elliott will no doubt be keen to get some winners back on the board but it remains to be seen how long the photo scandal will follow the Cullentra House trainer.
