Sunday ITV Racing Tips: Best bets for Leopardstown and Musselburgh

A bonus day of action for the ITV cameras thanks to the Dublin Racing Festival and an alluring card at Musselburgh, so the Planet Sport tipsters are on hand with some selections on Sunday, February 5.

The Irish Champion Hurdle is the highlight of the final day of the Dublin Racing Festival, in a racecard stuffed with Grade 1 action.
Let's start with a quick list of our selections for Sunday's races, there's a bit more detail on some of of our highlighted horses further down the page.

Don't forget to check out the racecards, results and live odds in the Planet Sport racing live centre.

Selections:

13:22 (Musselburgh) Bringbackmemories

13:40 (Leopardstown) Mighty Potter

13:55 (Musselburgh) Pay The Piper

14:10 (Leopardstown) Blue Lord

14:25 (Mussleburgh) General Officer

14:40 (Leopardstown) Indigo Breeze

15:10 (Leopardstown) Honeysuckle

15:40 (Leopardstown) Facile Vega

13:22 (Musselburgh) Bringbackmemories

John McConnell's Bringbackmemories can strike again at Musselburgh to land the bet365 Scottish Triumph Hurdle.
The four-year-old has been competitive in three starts since switching codes and seemed to put everything together to win a juvenile hurdle over course and distance on January 1.
That success was an easy 15-length win under Ryan Mania, the same jockey who takes the ride when the gelding is stepped up to Listed level in a field of six at the weekend.

13:55 (Musselburgh) Pay The Piper

On the same card Ann Hamilton has a leading chance in the bet365 Scottish Champion Handicap Chase with Pay The Piper, an eight-year-old owned by her husband, Ian.
The bay has Musselburgh form and his winless season thus far has seen his mark drop to 136, a rating that leaves him neatly placed for this assignment under Danny McMenamin.

14:25 (Mussleburgh) General Officer

General Officer who appeals in the bet365 Scottish Supreme Novices' Hurdle.
A Donald McCain-trained six-year-old who has won twice over course and distance this term and has done little wrong since starting out under rules following his point-to-point career.

15:10 (Leopardstown) Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle's comeback bid in the Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle is the headline act the closing day of the Dublin Racing Festival.
The mare's winning streak came to an end in the Hatton's Grace at Fairyhouse last time out, but she has won this race for the three previous seasons and that is not form that can be easily dismissed.
State Man may be a serious rival for Willie Mullins, but even Honeysuckle should be allowed to get a run under her belt before producing her best work and her wealth of course and distance experience is an asset.

15:40 (Leopardstown) Facile Vega

Facile Vega is likely to be a short-priced favourite in the Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle and rightly so, with the son of wonder-mare Quevega making light work of all six career starts so far.
A graduation to hurdling has only brought more success and he is already a Grade One winner over course and distance after landing the Future Champions Novice Hurdle by four lengths in December.
