Southwell Nap May 18: Benefact fancied for debut success

Southwell stages a National Hunt card on Wednesday, May 18 and Planet Sport’s Jonathan Doidge is confident he has unearthed a winner in the bumper.

A Southwell bumper wouldn't normally be my idea of a wager but the 18:50 on Wednesday's card is a very weak contest and I think Nicky Henderson can strike first time with Benefact.
An 80,000euros three-year-old, he is a full brother to the useful bumper and 2m hurdle winner Wide Receiver, who was also a debut scorer in this discipline.
He's also a half-brother to two other hurdle and chase winners, out of a 1m4f Flat and 2m1f hurdle winner, so he has plenty going for him on pedigree.
He represents a top yard that is 25% in bumpers and have plenty of debut winners and I think he has been found a good opportunity to make a winning introduction to the racecourse.
So, it's Benefact to win the 18:50 at Southwell on Wednesday.
