Saturday Southwell horse racing tip: Shallow Hal can outrun big odds at favourite track

The loss of today's big Haydock meeting has reduced the each-way double of our Tipstrr racing expert into a single tip that suggests that Shallow Hal can outrun his huge price at Southwell

Shallow Hal comes to Southwell on Saturday as a well-handicapped course-and-distance winner, although he needs to bounce back from a poor run last time out, folloing a moderate performance in his previous race.
He was held up and could have had a better result had things gone a little smoother, but the bare facts show that he underperformed when he should have progressed from that previous outing.
Today the seven-year-old gelding returns to his favourite track where he boasts form that reads 3242. On top of that record, his earlier dip in form sees him down two pounds, with a further seven-pound allowance for his claiming jockey, effectively making him next-to-bottom weight.
All this suggests that he is currently available at a huge price, especially as a couple of withdrawals has reduced his number of rivals to the minimum of four required to qualify for an each-way place.
Anything over 14/1 would be worth taking, and it will be interesting to see how the market reacts throughout the morning.
