Luke Elder’s betting tips: The Brown Chamberlin Trophy at Newbury

We look ahead to the 1.30 at Newbury on Friday.

Let's tuck the weekend beers away and put the champagne on ice, as our tipster returns to give you a tasty price to get your teeth stuck into.

1.30 Newbury - Minella Bobo

Elder says: "Stayers action now in the 1.30 over at Newbury for the Brown Chamberlin Trophy, with a trip of just under three miles.

"And I think we could find one at a bit of a price in this, with Minella Bobo for Rebecca Curtis.

"He won very well last time around, that was with first-time cheekpieces on at Hereford. It seemed to make all the difference - went from the front, jumped perfectly as he normally does in fairness and managed to slip the field.

"He didn't win by all that far, he was getting a little tired in the closing stages. I do think he's still capable of better.

"Up to a mark of 122, up eight pounds, so life will be tougher, but that's the same mark that he ran a decent race off at Uttoxeter back at the start of this year, off the back of a break. He looked to need that run quite badly.

"Things haven't exactly gone his way this season though, but last time was much better. I think Minella Bobo is respected and can be taken on, so I'd potentially [take a view] from an each-way stand point.

"Corrany does look the most likely winner on all known form - he got off the mark at Huntingdon last time around, that was a good race beating Supremely Lucky, who we will see on this card as well.

"But I think Minella Bobo is one that could be a sneaky each-way bet at a touch of a big price."
