Friday’s Southwell racing tips: Fine Wine the vintage pick for Scott Dixon

Planet Sport tipster Pete Farries is no Blue Nun man, he’s partial to a Fine Wine at Southwell as part of his top picks on Friday, April 1. Cheers!

Here's a quick list of Pete's three picks from Southwell Friday, April 1. Let's hope we can make April fools of the bookies.
Fine Wine (16.35 Southwell)
Deevious Beau (17.05 Southwell)
Asadjumeirah (19.10 Southwell)
You didn't think we'd leave you without a written summary of Pete's Southwell tips did you?

19.10 Southwell - Asadjumeirah

Pete is keen on Asadjumeirah for the Anthony Brittain yard, a consistent sprinter who racked up two wins at Newcastle in February.

A third last time out at Wolverhampton was no disgrace and with Cam Hardie in the saddle here are a few reasons why Pete thinks Asadjumeirah will deliver in the Betway Handicap.

"Was a very creditable third over at Wolverhampton last time around, back-to-back wins earlier in the year at Newcastle put this horse in the good form category and yes the one previous run at Southwell (fourth of nine) isn't the end of the world to be absolutely honest with you."
"I think this horse is going very nicely indeed and in truth I don't know who else in this race is as good as this horse on their day."

16.35 Southwell - Fine Wine

Here's hoping Pete's picks age like a Fine Wine but he is certainly partial to this Scott Dixon runner in the Read Katie Walsh On Betway Insider Handicap.

A course and distance win last time out speaks for itself and jockey Jonathan Fisher takes off five pounds, meaning Fine Wine may pour it on here.
"Was a winner at the class above over this trip here at Southwell last time around, moved back down for this one and yes, is likely to go off favourite, but I don't care this horse has a great chance."
"Knows Southwell like the back of their hoof and to be fair that win last time around was very impressive, went stand side and absolutely smashed it."

17.05 Southwell - Deevious Beau

Pete reckons that Deevious Beau is a straight down the line suggestion in the #betyourway At Betway Handicap.

The five-year-old looks to be going the way of a win after a solid second last time around at Wolverhampton and here are a few reasons why Deevious Beau can prove the beautiful choice for the Barrons.
"Now a couple of weeks ago, ran really well at Wolverhampton, went off 11/1, finished second and that was despite being hampered in the race."
"Here at Southwell, well, last ran here a couple of months ago, finished second beaten only by a neck on that occasion. The runs at Newcastle in between haven't been brilliant. You could play Deevious Beau each-way but I think this field is there for the taking."
