Prodigy Doug Ghim to take the crown in the third edition of the 3M Open

Fresh from landing a 35/1 coup by putting up Collin Morikawa to win the Open, GingerBets tipster Jack Kelliher presents his top four picks for the 3M Open exclusively for Planet Sport.

Doug Ghim is aiming for his first PGA Tour win this week, hoping to become the third champion on the TPC Twin Cities course.

The 25-year-old's impressive amateur career, including wins at the Pacific Coast Amateur, and the Walker Cup in 2017 for the United States, has marked him down as a future star.

Ghim is one of three picks for the tournament from GingerBet's Jack Kelliher.

Kelliher's first pick is the world number two, Dustin Johnson. The 2020 Masters Champion has just come off a top 10 in the Open Championship and is the clear favourite to win this weekend.

Despite his dominance in previous years, his price is an appealing 7/1.

"When I saw the generous offer of 7/1 by Planet Sport Bet, I could not resist a win only bet. The first pick of the week, Dustin Johnson."

Kelliher's second choice is Scotland's Robert MacIntyre. Another player with a top 10 at the Open Championship makes Kelliher's list and it's clear why.

"The low scoring nature of the 3M Open will suit his style of play. He is an aggressive player with an elite iron game and a world class putting stroke. I expect him to come close."

His third choice is the young prodigy and upcoming star, Doug Ghim.

"At the John Deere Classic, he gained 2.3 strokes per round, tee to green, as well as 1.89 strokes per round on approach play compared to the field."

At 50/1, Ghim has been priced at lavish odds given his quality.

Finally, Kelliher has gone for a big outsider in 300/1 shot David Hearn.

Hearn's stats may just tempt you in:

"In his last 24 rounds he's 10th in fairways gained, fifth in strokes gained on par four scoring, and eighth in proximity from 100-150 yards. What is not to like about that?!"
