Patrick Cantlay is this week's hot pick for The Northern Trust, with Planet Sport tipster Jack Kelliher backing the American to claim his third win of the 2020/21 PGA TOUR season.
With his suitability to the course and extra motivation, Kelliher highlights why the 29-year-old is his No.1 pick to win this week's FedEx Cup opener at Liberty National.
Kelliher says: "He is a three-time winner on Bentgrass putting surfaces, he sits sixth in Tee to Green performance over the last 24 rounds on tour, and he will be eager to secure his place on the Ryder Cup team come September.
"What better motivation than that for Patrick Cantlay, available at 33/1 with six places."
Second up for Kelliher is another player fighting for a place in the Ryder Cup, England's Paul Casey, who is priced around 35/1.
"He is the second and hottest player in golf with Tee to Green performance over the last 24 rounds; only Collin Morikawa is ahead of him.
"I believe that Paul Casey has the skill sets to get the job done this week, available at 35/1 with six places at planetsportbet.com."
Next up for Kelliher is the versatile Daniel Berger, whose style and ability will certainly fit this week's course.
"He can play in windy conditions very well and that is something that the players may face on this open, exposed layout in New York.
"He has also got three top 10s in his last five events and is coming in slightly under the radar. His price isn't overly generous but I am happy to make a play at around 28/1, with six places available, on Daniel Berger."
Jack's fourth and final choice this week is an outsider at a three-figure price - upcoming and future star, Maverick McNealy.
"This is a player that you will certainly hear more of in 2022 and beyond.
"The fourth and final selection to make up the portfolio of the week will be Maverick McNealy."
