PGA Championship: Jordan Spieth grouped with Viktor Hovland and Shane Lowry

Jordan Spieth will partner Viktor Hovland and Shane Lowry in the first two rounds of the US PGA Championship, while Masters champion Jon Rahm is alongside Matt Fitzpatrick and Cameron Smith.

Jordan Spieth will partner Viktor Hovland and Shane Lowry, injury permitting, in the first two rounds of the US PGA Championship as he bids to complete the career grand slam.

Spieth needs to lift the Wanamaker Trophy to become just the sixth player to have won all four major titles after Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen.
However, Spieth's prospects have been hampered by a wrist injury which forced him to withdraw from last week's AT&T Byron Nelson in Texas.
The former world number one will get his campaign under way at 0822 local time (1322 BST) on Thursday at Oak Hill Country Club, where Jason Dufner won his sole major title the last time the course hosted the US PGA in 2013.
Masters champion Jon Rahm gets his bid for back-to-back major titles under way 11 minutes later alongside US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick and Open champion Cameron Smith, who joined LIV Golf a month after his victory at St Andrews last year.
Defending champion Justin Thomas also has an early tee time on Thursday alongside two-time winner Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa, with Masters runner-up Brooks Koepka in the same group as Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland at 0800 local time.
