Brooks Koepka defends LIV Golfers after positive Masters showing

Brooks Koepka has jumped to the defence of his fellow LIV Golf cohorts following their good results at the Masters.

It's no secret that LIV Golf wantaways have copped criticism from seemingly every angle. From their morals being brought into question, to their shorts and the continued cold shoulder from players and established Tours alike.
It's even been suggested that with LIV Golf featuring 54-hole events, the players would not have the conditioning - whether it be mental or physical - to go four rounds at the majors.
Unfortunately, Koepka's 54-hole lead and sudden capitulation in the final round adds credence to that belief. But on the whole, the LIV Golf stars arguably performed admirably at Augusta National.

Koepka finished in T2 alongside a resurgent Phil Mickelson, while Patrick Reed finished T4, five strokes off the pace.

"We're still the same people," the American told ESPN.

"So I mean, I know if I'm healthy, I know I can compete. I don't think any of the guys that played this event thought otherwise, either. When Phil plays good, we know he's going to compete. Reed, the same thing.

"I think that's just manufactured by the media that we can't compete anymore; that we are washed up."

LIV Golf players continue to be excluded from earning world rankings points from LIV events.
