Boost for LIV Golf as it signs 'multi-year partnership' to televise live action

LIV Golf has signed a "multi-year partnership" to televise its events on The CW Network.

The 54-hole events in the Saudi-funded league will be aired live on Saturdays and Sundays. Friday's opening rounds will be on The CW App.
The length of the partnership has not been disclosed.
LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman said: "This is a momentous day for LIV Golf as this partnership is about more than just media rights.

"The CW will provide accessibility for our fans and maximum exposure for our athletes and partners as their reach includes more than 120 million households across the United States.

"We are very proud to note how consequential it is that a league that has only existed for one year has secured a full broadcast deal in its debut full league season."

LIV Golf's inaugural invitational series of eight events in 2022 was strictly available via streaming on YouTube and its own website.

However, despite enormous production costs, viewership was very low, despite attempts to make the product more attractive to younger audiences.

The same broadcast team that worked the 2022 events will return this year, with well-known broadcaster David Feherty joined by fellow analyst Jerry Foltz and play-by-play announcer Arlo White.
