Alice Hewson one shot off leader Lauren Holmey after opening round of Joburg Ladies Open

England’s Alice Hewson shot a first round 68 to lie one stroke adrift of Joburg Ladies Open leader Lauren Holmey.
Hewson made a blistering start with birdies at the first, second, third and fifth holes in an outward 33.
The 25-year-old from Hertfordshire birdied the 12th on the back nine, holding top spot with Denmark's Smilla Tarning Soenderby until Holmey finished strongly late in the day.
The Dutch youngster birdied her final four holes for a six-under par 67.
Liz Young is among a quartet on four-under, while fellow English player Lily May Humphreys is a shot further back following a bogey-free 70.
Felicity Johnson and Becky Brewerton, of Wales, both carded 72s, while Scotland's Laura Beveridge returned a level-par 73.
