Peter Wright throws in Scotland's quarterfinal match against France at the Darts World Team Championship - June 2023

Peter Wright makes his Scotland homecoming this Thursday as the Premier League Darts season enters its third night.

The Scotsman got off to a poor start this season and is yet to claim a single point after the opening two nights.

However, with a semi-final run in the Players Championship under his belt, Wright will be looking to make an improved showing in front of his home fans in Glasgow.

Wright’s quarter-final clash comes against high-flying Dutchman, Michael van Gerwen. The three-time world champion won Night Two in Berlin after edging Luke Littler 6-5 in the final.

Van Gerwen is playing solid darts yet he maintains there’s more to come in his post-match interviews.

The Green Machine is favourite to win a successive Premier League night and is expected to progress past Wright.

While the Scotsman showed signs of improvement on the Tour last Tuesday, it’s tough to go against MVG at this moment. The Dutchman averaged over 100 in all three games last week, including a 107 against Michael Smith.

Luke Humphries and Luke Littler are both priced at 7/2 to claim Night Three. Both men are in the second half of the draw, meaning they could clash for a fifth time this year should they prevail in their quarter-final ties.

Littler won one of the Players Championship events in the week and hit a nine-darter along the way.

Humphries, on the other hand, endured early exits in Monday’s and Tuesday’s tournaments.

With that in mind, backing Littler to reach the final and take on Van Gerwen makes for an intriguing proposition at the 7/2 mark.

Suggested bets

Michael van Gerwen to win Night Three – 5/2
Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler to play in final – 7/2
