European Darts Open tips: Only one man can stop Luke Littler from Leverkusen demolition

Luke Littler

The European Championship isn’t the only big sporting event taking place in Germany this weekend as PDC’s biggest stars head to the home of the Bundesliga champions.

The city of Leverkusen was at the centre of sporting attention this summer as Bayer claimed the Bundesliga title for the first time ever.

All that attention isn’t going away as the biggest names in darts make their way to the home of Germany’s champions.

Luke Littler is among the long list of names competing at the European Darts Open as he looks to add another title to his CV.

The teenager recently claimed the Premier League crown and he followed that up by winning the Poland Masters last weekend.

Littler has won two of seven European Tour events this year and he will be targeting at least a couple more before the end of the season.

The 17-year-old showed great form in Gliwice last weekend as he powered past Peter Wright, Michael Smith and Rob Cross before winning the Poland Masters.

Littler is not only delivering on the big stage, but he is also incredibly consistent with his performances.

The Premier League champion will take some beating in Leverkusen, though there are potential challengers who could threaten.

Rob Cross is undoubtedly one of them. The former World Champion is enjoying a solid run of form, winning the Baltic Sea Darts Open, US Masters and also reaching the final in the last two World Series of Darts events - all that within a space of a few weeks.

As a seeded player, Cross will also have the advantage of starting from the second round in Leverkusen.

With all that in mind, we’re backing Littler as our main tip. However, if you’re looking for a dark horse, you can’t go wrong with Cross.

Suggested bets
