2024 Poland Darts Masters tips: Rob Cross backed to continue epic World Series of Darts run

Rob Cross suffers shock defeat

The World Series of Darts heads to Poland for the second successive year as Michael van Gerwen looks to defend his crown.

The PDC broke fresh ground last year as organisers decided to host one of their World Series events in Poland for the very first time.

A capacity crowd welcomed the event as Van Gerwen produced one of his best tournament performances in years, averaging 110, 104 and 113 in his last three matches.

The Dutchman is not hitting those same heights at the moment, and it may be worth looking elsewhere if you’re planning a punt on the Polish Darts Masters.

Luke Litter would be the obvious choice. The teenager is having the time of his life on the PDC Tour although he was beaten by Gerwyn Price at the US Darts Masters last time out.

Thankfully for the Englishman, Price has withdrawn from this weekend’s event in Poland and has been replaced by Stephen Bunting.

Speaking of the Bullet, there may be value in backing the Masters champion. While he may have endured a handful of early exits in recent tournaments, Bunting has a propensity to turn on the style in big events.

At first glance, Luke Humphries would appear like a good pick. Afterall, he is the current world champion.

However, with Humphries never making it to the final of a World Series of Darts event, there may be better options out there.

For us, the main tip is Rob Cross. The former world champion has won three of the last seven World Series of Darts events and it could have been four had he prevailed against Price over in Copenhagen last time out.

The Englishman clearly loves this event and we’re backing him to go all the way.
