Premier League darts: Wright and Price return from injury but still not 100%

The top two in the world rankings both have injury problems ahead of Premier League night six in Nottingham on Thursday.

Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright have confirmed that they are available to play in night six of the Cazoo Premier League in Nottingham on Thursday but neither of them will be feeling full fit.

Price missed last week's Premier League in Brighton night after injuring his hand, and also missed the weekend's European Tour event in Germany.

World number one Wright made it to Germany, but had to then pull out of the German Darts Championship due to a back problem.

Wright has since had treatment on his back and also a gallstones issue since he got back in the UK, and will take his place at the oche on Thursday to play Joe Cullen in the quarter-finals at the Motorpoint Arena.

"It's been a really hard couple of weeks," said Wright. "I've not been anywhere near 100 percent this month.

"The back issue on top of the gallstones was the last straw for me in Germany at the weekend. I feel better now that I've been checked out by the docs.

"I will have to look after myself a bit now, rest as much as I can between events. If I can focus on the darts, I think I win matches."

World number two Price has the toughest draw as he plays Michael van Gerwen in Nottingham, but said that he was "not 100%" despite being recovered enough to play.
