Michael van Gerwen picks up a second European title in 2022 after Austrian Darts Open triumph
The Dutchman followed up his German Darts Championship win in March by scooping the Austrian Darts Open on Sunday evening.
Michael van Gerwen added to his 2022 silverware on Sunday evening with an impressive win against compatriot Danny Noppert in the final of the Austrian Darts Open.
He started Sunday's running in fine form, first seeing off Premier League rival James Wade in the round of 16 before beating fellow Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode in the quarter-finals.

From there, the duo locked horns and were still at a stalemate at 5-5. But Van Gerwen - as he usually does - was able to up the levels for the final few legs, and the current world No.3 won the final three legs to win 8-5, landing two 14-darters in the process.
He also pockets a handy ÂŁ25,000 prize for winning the tournament - the fourth time he has done so throughout his career.
