Luke Littler responds to Ricardo Pietreczko after German accuses teenager of ‘arrogance’

Luke Littler put on another tremendous performance over the weekend as he powered towards the Belgian Darts Open title.

The teenager bagged his third nine-darter of the season as he beat Rob Cross in the final and claimed his first PDC European Tour title.

Despite his latest darting achievement, it was an unlikely altercation with Ricardo Pietreczko which stole the headlines.

The pair clashed after their semi-final, which saw Littler come out a comfortable 7-3 winner.

After the match, the German looked visibly frustrated as he went over to make his feelings clear to Littler during the post-match handshake.

Following a quick exchange of words, Pietreczko stormed off the stage while Littler celebrated his victory with the crowd.

Pietreczko later said in a post on Instagram: “So I appreciated him a lot, that you can play such a game at such a (young) age, but I hope the arrogance punishes him.”

Littler hit back on X, saying: “No idea what I did wrong, no idea what he said, something then don’t do it again.”

That was the first meeting between the pair on the PDC circuit and it was Littler who dominated the match with a 104 average.

Pietreczko, on the other hand, struggled to get going in the match as his average of 90 didn’t give him many opportunities at a finish.

Littler will return to action on Thursday as he resumes his Premier League Darts campaign over in Nottingham.
