'He's gone quiet, I'm not happy with that': Jonny Clayton wants the old Gerwyn Price back

Jonny Clayton is relishing teaming up again with Gerwyn Price next month at the World Cup of Darts, but has called on his Team Wales partner to start getting on the back of the crowd again.

Jonny Clayton has called on his fellow countryman Gerwyn Price to go back to his old ways of winding up the crowd as the pair prepare to team up at the World Cup of Darts next month.

Price has calmed his on-stage antics during the Premier League in recent weeks, but Clayton believes his good friend needs to get the audience going again.
"My only complaint with Gezzy is that he needs to start geeing the crowd up again. He's gone quiet, I'm not happy with that," said Clayton to Polly James for Sport in Wales.
"He needs to shout again. I've got total respect for Gezzy Price. Great friend, a great guy, and a fantastic dart player. What more do you want in a teammate. Probably one of the lucky ones. Genuinely cannot wait."

Clayton did, however, take the time to also discuss one area of Price's game he wishes he had in his own.

He joked: "I wish I could count as good as him. All jokes aside, I think Gezzy's mindset is fantastic. He's got something.
"I'm happy go lucky but when I stand behind Gezzy, I look at him sometimes and think whatever is going on in your head I wish I could have as he's just got something that's different.
"I believe in my darts, I believe in my game but Gezzy's got that belief, it amazes me."

The duo will be back in Premier League action on Thursday evening when they head to Aberdeen for Night 16.

Clayton can book a place in the play-offs with a quarter-final victory over Nathan Aspinall, while Price takes on Peter Wright.
However, the man to beat in Scotland will be reigning world champion Michael Smith, who has won the last three nights and is currently flying.
