Darts world number one Gerwyn Price to make shock boxing debut for exhibition bout

Former rugby star to try his hand at a fourth different sport this April.

Darts world number one Gerwyn Price is already a man of many sports, and he will now be able to add boxing to the growing list.
Price played professionally in both rugby league and rugby union before turning his attention to darts, with him climbing to the very top in arrows.

Now he has announced via his Instagram account that he will make his boxing debut this year.

The 'Ice Man' is set to face Rhys 'Cool fly and flashy' Evans in a charity event at the Valley Tavern in Fleur De Lys, Wales on April 9.

The fight is scheduled to take place between Premier League events, and just five days before he faces reigning world champion Peter Wright in Manchester.

Gerwyn Price made the announcement via his Instagram story, claiming he will "need to drop 10kg" for the fight.

Price's rugby career saw him play union for Neath and Cross Keys in the Welsh Premier Division before switching codes and playing rugby league for Wales Scorpions.

In 2014 he walked away from rugby and started his darts career. Seven years later he became the 10th player to reach world number one after he won the world championship.
