Czech Darts Open news: Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith and Jonny Clayton dumped out early in Prague

The second round of the Czech Darts Open provided incredible drama as the top seeds tumbled at the Kralovka Arena.

Gerwyn Price failed to back up his Premier League win in Sheffield as he fell to a 6-3 defeat against two-time world champion Adrian Lewis.

The Iceman, who also suffered an early exit at the recent European Darts Masters, averaged 91 as Jackpot picked up arguably his biggest win of the year.

Lewis will take on Vincent can der Voort in the third round after the Dutchman beat Martin Schindler 6-5 in another dramatic affair.

Michael Smith, who arrived in Prague on the back of successive Players Championship tournament wins, was also knocked out early as the 31-year-old fell to a 6-4 loss against Rowby-John Rodriguez.

Jonny Clayton will join Smith and Price on the early plane home as the Welshman endured a nail-biting 6-5 defeat at the hands of Jose Justicia - that's despite averaging a ton.

Michael van Gerwen was far from his best, but the Dutchman got the job done as he beat Czech Republic's own Vitezslav Sedlak 6-2 - that's despite posting a disappointing 85 average.

Ryan Searle put on the individual performance of the day as his average of 107 - highest of the day - helped him to a 6-0 whitewash over Ritchie Edhouse.

Speaking of impressive averages, Daryl Gurney and Dave Chisnall put on the match of the tournament, with both men posting impressive three-figure numbers.

Dave Chisnall at the German Darts Championship

In the end, it was Chisnall who kept his cool and won 6-5 to book a third-round clash with Ross Smith.

The man known as Smudger knocked out Joe Cullen and will now face another tough test in Chizzy.

The tournament's second all-English third round clash will see Rob Cross and Ricky Evans go head-to-head.

Voltage saw off the challenge of Jules van Dongen, while Evans whitewashed 12th seed Krzysztof Ratajski.
