The weather and England's defeat to Australia have put the reigning champions in danger of an early exit from the T20 World Cup.

Locked in fourth on the standings, with just the one point to their names, England are up against it to escape Group B and reach the Super 8s phase.

They face an Oman team that have no chance of progressing having already lost three matches.

However, Oman did run Australia much closer than expected and the nature of the surfaces they have been playing on could also act as an equaliser that gives them a lift when they take on the great power.

England need to win both of their remaining matches and hope that Australia beat Scotland to prevent their Northern neighbours from stealing through the group phase ahead of them.

The tournament format has made it difficult for England to gain any momentum and they have been disadvantaged by having their match against Scotland washed out to start.

Oman have been a credit to themselves in a group where they were expected to finish bottom but they are still likely to scrape and claw at England in a bid to take something away from this T20 World Cup.

England's great strength has been their white-ball batting but that has taken a bit of a knock on surfaces that have offered a little more for the bowler than they might have expected.

Still, it seems that Phil Salt and Jos Buttler are in good shape to start putting big runs on the board.

When it comes to team markets, England dominates and there isn't much in the way of value to be had unless you fancy Oman to cause a bit of a disturbance.

For England, Chris Jordan still looks like the bowler who is most likely to do damage, although there have been encouraging signs from the likes of Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali.

Oman's Aqib Ilyas is their most accomplished batter in this format and they will look to him to lead their efforts with the bat after his exploits for his country over the last 18 months.

Experienced seamers Mehran Khan and Bilal Khan have been a handful for some of the best players in the world and could give England some more trouble in this match.
