It is the last chance for the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru to keep themselves in the running for the IPL title when they meet on Wednesday (1500 BST).

The Royals find themselves in the eliminator after racing out to an early lead in the IPL table before the wheels came off.

By contrast, RCB reached the play-offs by the skin of their teeth off the back of a frankly incredible winning streak.

RCB had to win six straight matches to get into this match but now face a team who have won just one of their last six matches in the IPL.

The team that claims victory in this match goes into the second qualifier where they will get a shot at making the IPL final but only four times in 15 instances has the team that wins the eliminator actually managed to make the final, and only twice has a team playing in this match ended up lifting the IPL trophy.

RCB's bootstraps recovery from being nearly dead and buried in the IPL has been driven by the brilliance and fire shown by Virat Kohli. As his team's No 1 batter both in the pecking order and the actual batting order, he is the man they will look towards to drive them to another win.

Yash Dayal has been more of a surprise package for RCB but he could once again be the bowler who picks up key scalps to help his team in a tournament where the bowlers have often been on a hiding to nothing.

The Royals might have lost Jos Buttler but his absence might prove to be a blessing in disguise as his form had dropped off dramatically after a good start.

Instead, it has been up to Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson to get things done at the top of the order for the Royals. Samson is the man who looks most likely to end up on top of the pile for the Royals.

Yuzvendra Chahal hasn't allowed his team's struggles to impact his bowling form and he will once again be the dangerman for his side with the ball in hand.

The Royals could look to Avesh Khan to make the early breakthroughs but it will be Chahal who they turn to when they need to derail the potent RCB middle order down the line.

Predictions

Virat Kohli to top score for RCB
