Australia vs Pakistan third Test day four: Tips and suggested bets

Australia will be looking to press home their advantage against Pakistan on day four of the third and final Test in Sydney.

Australia have taken charge of the match in a manner that would suggest they are on target for a series whitewash over Pakistan despite the tourists putting up far more fight than 3-0 might suggest.

Pakistan have had brilliant sessions of cricket across the series but has not been able to string them together to keep Australia under pressure, while the hosts have held their composure throughout, even in the face of some fierce fast bowling.

Pakistan head into the fourth day with a slender lead of 83 and just three wickets in hand with their hopes of a highly unlikely victory hinging on a barrel of runs coming from Mohammad Rizwan and bowling performance for the ages.

Australia are holding all the aces but Pakistan could still make things uncomfortable for them if they can just add a few runs to the total on the fourth morning.

Australia vs Pakistan third Test day four: Suggested bets

Pakistan managing to get over 120 runs in the third innings might give them a shot at making proceedings a little more interesting and could also bag decent returns, although with the mark still 37 runs away and Pakistan having suffered a spectacular collapse already, it will still take some doing.

If that punt is a little on the safe side for you, then consider taking on the over-under at 130 for Pakistan's second dig. It's a longer shot, but with just that ten-run gap, it might be a way to glean value out of a match that looks to be just about settled.

Pakistan do at least have Mohammad Rizwan and Aamer Jamal at the wicket, their top scorers in the first innings.

With the Australian bowling fired up and ready to run through Pakistan, it could be wise to go the other way and back the hosts to wrap up the overnight partnership early.

There are only six runs in play but Australia snapping up another wicket before Pakistan reach 75 doesn't look to be the longshot the sportsbooks make it.

Bowled or leg before being the next dismissal could be another way of forging a winning slip but it should be noted that both the batters at the crease were caught out playing shots in the first innings so those modes of dismissals are only likely to be in the game early.

Predictions

Pakistan to break 120 in their second innings

Pakistan to achieve over 130 in their innings
