Nasir Hossain receives two-year ban for violating anti-corruption code

Ex-Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hossain faces a two-year cricket ban for violating the Emirates Cricket Board's anti-corruption code.

The 32-year-old, who has represented his country in all three formats but not featured internationally since 2018, admitted three charges related to his 2021 stint with Pune Devils in the UAE T10.

Hossain failed to declare that he had been gifted a new iPhone 12 or tell officials of the offer to use the handset for 'corrupt conduct'. He also accepted that he had failed to co-operate with the subsequent investigation.

The final six months of his ban are suspended, meaning he is free to return to the game in April next year.
