Finger spinner Dom Bess joins Warwickshire on loan after Danny Brigs injury

Dom Bess of Yorkshire celebrates taking the wicket of Tom Westley - June 2023
The arrival of Dan Moriarty at Yorkshire has meant Dom Bess will join Warwickshire on loan for the remainder of the season.
Dom Bess joined Warwickshire on loan after Yorkshire needed to make space in their squad after the arrival of Dan Moriarty and Warwickshire sent out an SoS following the injury to Danny Briggs.
The former England international has been woefully out of form this season having only take 12 wickets in five County Championship games at an average of more than 51.
Bess will be hoping to tread a similar path with Warwickshire as he did at Yorkshire, after he first arrived there on loan too before impressing enough to earn a permanent move.
The writing was on the wall for Bess earlier this week when Moriarty was signed on loan from Surrey.
Interestingly, despite his poor form, the move now allows him to a chance to impress for the team challenging at the top of Division One. And he was thrust straight into the first team after Danny Briggs picked up a hamstring strain.
"We needed an experienced finger spinner as we've looked at the wicket and it's very dry, so you would need one spinner, or maybe even two.
"Dom missing out for Yorkshire gives him an opportunity and sometimes those players have a point to prove or enjoy a new lease of life," Warwickshire head coach, Mark Robinson.
